The Fairbanks Local School District’s Board of Education acted last night at a special board meeting to employ Adham Schirg as Superintendent of Fairbanks Local Schools, effective August 1, 2019. Mr. Schirg, who was awarded a three-year contract, is currently Principal of the Worthington Academy and Phoenix Middle School in Worthington City Schools located in Franklin County. He will replace Dr. David Baits who is currently serving as Interim Superintendent.
The Board of Education began the Superintendent Search in early September 2018. The Board received assistance in the process from K-12 Business Consulting. After developing a Superintendent Search Profile based on information provided by parents, community members, teachers, students, administrators, and support staff, the Board reviewed the credentials of 30 highly qualified individuals. Interviews with 8 semi-finalists were conducted on January 29th and 30th. Three finalists returned on February 5th for a “Meet and Greet” session with 35 community and staff members, and to be interviewed with the Board of Education following the “Meet and Greet.”
The Board of Education would like to thank the “Meet and Greet” Committee for taking the time to provide important feedback that assisted the Board in their final decision.
Board President, Mark Lippencott stated, “The Board is pleased and excited to welcome Adham Schirg as the new Superintendent of Fairbanks Local Schools. Mr. Schirg stood out throughout the application and interview process.
