Enrollment Policy - District Residents

Welcome to the Fairbanks Local School District! The district has centralized enrollment. You must register your child at the Board of Education office (Entrance B, in front of the Middle School).

To enroll your child in the district, please see the steps outlined below:

Step 2: Bring the completed and signed enrollment packet along with the following documents:

  • Proof of Residence- Accepted forms to prove residence are:
    • Utility bills: Only gas, water or electric bills with both service and mailing addresses visible in the parent/guardian's name are accepted. We do not accept trash, phone or cable bills.
    • Lease agreements (when stated that utilities are included), in the parent/guardian's name
    • If you are living with someone and do not have a utility or lease in your name, a Residence Affidavit must be completed.

Step 3: Complete Final Forms online emergency medical forms for your child(ren)

Step 4: Once the enrollment paperwork and Final Forms are complete, you will need to contact the building where the child will attend for scheduling:

Step 5: You will receive a letter confirming enrollment from the Board of Education office. This will contain all information to enroll in PowerSchool for you and your child. Please contact the Board of Education office if any information in this letter is not correct.

Typically, it takes a minimum of 24-48 hours to process enrollment paperwork. Your child cannot attend until all enrollment paperwork has been completed. The Fairbanks District cannot contact school districts to get this information; it must be provided by the parent/guardian prior to the enrollment of your child in the Fairbanks District.

If you have questions, you may contact the enrollment staff. Office hours are August - May: 7:30AM - 4:00PM and June - July: 7:30AM - 3:00PM.
