March 10, 2020

Dear Fairbanks Families,

As you may be aware, yesterday Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency due to three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our state.

We wanted to provide an update to you on our efforts to prepare for the potential effect of this virus within our community. We are disinfecting per our flu season protocol, which in addition to regular cleaning measures, includes electro-static disinfectants to our classrooms, common areas and buses. Our administration is reviewing our response plans and what the continuation of education will look like in the event we are required to close our facilities for an extended period of time. We encourage our school families to be diligent with the usual preventative measures, such as frequent and thorough hand washing and staying home when feeling ill.

Our goal is to provide assurance to our community that we are thinking about the “what ifs” and taking measures to prepare for them. Below are online resources that were sent last week, please continue to reference the preventative measures and community resources available from the health department.
