Special Education: Problem Resolution

To Parents of Special Needs students:

If you have any concerns about the implementation of your child's Individual Educational Plan (IEP), please contact the personnel in the order listed below to resolve any questions you might have.

  1. First contact the student's teacher in the subject area in which there is a concern to review how the IEP is being implemented.
  2. If the concern is not resolved by teacher contact, please contact your child's intervention specialist. This person was a member of team who helped write the IEP for your student.
  3. If the above two methods have not solved the question, please contact the principal at the school your child attends.
  4. If the issue continues, please contact the Special Education Supervisor, Ann Arthur at 937-349-3731 x1201.
  5. If the issue has not yet been resolved, please call Ellen Frasca at COSERRC- at 614-262-4545 or the Ohio Coalition for Education of Children with Disabilities, 800-374-2806. They can give you unbiased advice on the legalities of the situation and how to proceed next.
