Presentations

A big thank you to all of the students who worked so hard on their presentations and summer assignments. That work is showing me just what I can expect this year and so far I have been impressed. I have been overwhelmed by how wonderful the seventh grade students are. I have noticed how well-mannered and responsible that they have been over the past few days of school.

Below, assuming that I can figure this all out, you will see pictures of some of the food projects that were brought in to represent the different time periods that the students researched. Students researched time periods that are part of the seventh grade social studies standards. This research not only will be a part of our first research based project, but it will help the students improve their research skills and give them a solid connection to what they will be learning in social studies.

Project for the Second Quarter

You must read a 100+ page historical fiction book for the first quarter and complete a project on it.

As you read don't forget to be filling out the K-W-L chart/book mark. As soon as you are done with that you can turn it in.

The Monday after progress reports come out students will be given more info on the project. It will involve elements of the story as well as information about the period of history.
