Welcome to Fairbanks Middle School

Serving Grades 6-8

For the last five years I have been the principal of Fairbanks High School. With the start of the 2011/2012 school year I will have the privilege of being the Fairbanks Middle School principal as well.

Middle school is an interesting time in a young person's life as they are transitioning from elementary students to teenagers. The staff at Fairbanks Middle School is experienced at nurturing and educating students and skillfully meets the needs of our 7th and 8th graders. Our teachers set high expectations for students as they take on more ownership and responsibility for their learning.

Fairbanks Middle School has been rated "Excellent" for the past two years and we continue to look for ways to improve. Along with providing academic excellence, we have a variety of activities available for students. Whether it is a club activity or sport I encourage students to become engaged in an activity here at FMS.

The staff at Fairbanks Middle School looks forward to working with parents and students in preparing them for the future. Please take time to investigate the rest of this website for more valuable information about Fairbanks Local Schools.

With Panther Pride,

Tom Montgomery
Fairbanks MS/HS Principal
