Fairbanks Elementary

Serving Preschool to Grade 6

Dear Students and Parents,

On behalf of our staff, I would like to welcome you to Fairbanks Elementary School. Our building is a preschool through sixth grade school with 540 students. As stated in the Fairbanks Elementary Mission Statement we build a solid academic foundation that meets each child's needs in a safe, friendly and challenging environment.

We offer all day, every other day, kindergarten and all day, Monday-Thursday, preschool classes. Our preschool classes are based on special needs qualifications. Typical kids are taken to help fill out the remaining part of our preschool roster. Fairbanks Elementary provides child care services for parents through our PAWS Program.

If you have any questions or would like to a tour of our building, feel free to call to set up an appointment at 937-349-9000 ext.2100. Thank you for your interest in Fairbanks Elementary School!

Mark Lotycz
Fairbanks Elementary Principal

6th grade sports information

Your son or daughter will be bringing a letter home from Miss Brill the MS AD explaining  that  if a Parent takes the free online course, The Role of the Parent in Sports, they can receive a ONETIME deduction of $10.00 from  their athlete’s participation fee if they make a school sponsored athletic team next year.  This is good for a onetime deduction per family over next year’s sport’s fee.  Contact Miss Brill with any questions.

Entering Middle School Building

ATTENTION PARENTS:    When coming to pick up students in grades 6 – 8, you MUST use entrance “C”, in the back of the building.    You can’t be buzzed in any other door.   Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.    Again, thanks for your patience as we continue to work out the “bugs” of our new buzzer system.

PTO NEWS

Hello FES families!

Our last meeting of the year was last week and we are looking at needing to fill a couple officer positions for next year. As some may know already, this was my last year as President. I have enjoyed my time for the last 7 years as an involved parent, Vice President and President, and my focus is now on my growing children and their activities, as well as still wanting to be an involved parent here at FES. Your new President is Jessica Stice and she will be a GREAT leader for the PTO with great ideas and tons of enthusiasm! The Vice Presidents are Rachel Jones and Toni Brake (welcome Toni and thank you Rachel for staying). BUT, we are in need of a Secretary and a Treasurer. PLEASE consider if either one of these positions would be something you could help out with. You can email me any questions you may have fairbankselempto@gmail.com or call me at 614-530-0902. We really appreciate your consideration.

Thank you
Angie Lester
FES PTO President

Buzzer System at Other Building

NEW BUZZER SYSTEM:  Anyone coming into the building after 8:15am and before dismissal will have to enter through those entrances and be buzzed in by a secretary. All other doors will be locked. This system is still new to us so please be patient with us as we work out any hiccups to the system.
