Continuous Improvement Plan
Introduction
Representatives from the district office, administrators, Board of Education and staff, also known as the District Leadership Team or DLT began meeting with Bruce Hoover from the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio in February of 2009 to work on completely re-doing the Continuous Improvement Plan. The The Continuous Improvement Plan. or CIP is a written plan required by the Ohio Department of Education under Senate Bill 55, that is to be used as a guide in achieving and measuring substantial improvements in a district's performance. It is viewed as a systemic effort to maximize resources directed at clearly defined goals. A CIP describes major decisions about the improved results a school district needs to achieve those results. The CIP is specifically related to performance accountability on the local Report Card.
The Fairbanks Local School District CIP represents renewed district focus on improving student achievement and will serve as a guide for buildings in the development of their individual improvement plans. It provides the framework for decision-making in areas such as allocation of resources and instructional practices. By engaging in this collaborative process, our district and community demonstrates their commitment to working together to improve student learning. To view the CIP please Continue to page 2.
